Travel Tales #1:
One of the big news yesterday/today was that whoohoo, chances are slimmer that we'd be needing to fly in the buff [see pic! scary, eh?]! At least for the near future lah, seeing as the TSA has relaxed its NO LIQUIDS ruling, and is now allowing *some* liquids back on carry-on in planes. Yay.
Travel Tales #2:
I was looking through my old old Malaysian passports. Dunno about other countries, but Malaysia specifies countries a Malaysian is NOT allowed to travel to on the passport.
It was interesting to see the changes over the years:
1984: Albania, China, Cuba, German Democratic Republic (East Germany), Israel, North Korea, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, South Africa.[Pity I don't have my 1974-issued passport with me: wonder how long THAT list was!]
1989: China, Cuba, Israel, North Korea, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, South Africa.
1994: Israel& South Africa
1999: Israel
2003: Israel
[ And, well, I wonder if Israel will *ever* be struck from the no-go list.... a slightly amusing thing about that: it seems that many Malaysians who perform their Umrah [a mini-Haj] do have Israel on their itinerary! I've heard that they are snuck in to see some sights then snuck out again - without getting their passports stamped lah otherwise big trouble with Malaysia mah! Heh. Go fig.]

Yeap! true about the Malaysia & Israel thingy. Few nights ago watched "Jejak Rasul" on TV3....the tv crew made it to Israel...difficult process to obtain permission to film there though but they got through it....
