another movie meme!!

... my most recent movie (quote) meme was in March; y'all identified all except one: the one that stumped my readers? The Rocky Horror Picture Show! :) Tsk tsk tsk! :) I suppose if I'd used the "shiver in anticip...pation" line it would have been easier to identify?? Anyways, as threatened earlier (although the fulfillment of said threat is much later than anticip...pated), here's another entry in the meme category:

The source is again Karl (*waves!*).

...

So Entertainment Weekly came up with a list of the top 100 movies of the last 25 years.

I've changed the "rules" a bit: I’ve bolded the movies that I’ve watched, and put asterisks** next to the ones that I've watched multiple times (catching bits and pieces on tv doesn't count!). Also, I’ve listed the movies I DIDN’T like in red and those I didn't/couldn't finish watching in italics (these would probably have earned a "red" if I'd watched it all, LoL!). Finally, I've greenified those that are on my Netflix (200+ title) queue, even if they've been there for almost 2 years LMAO!!.

Feel free to adopt & adapt this yourself!

  1. Long list indeed.
I have watched maybe only half your list and don't even know know what some of those movies are about. Guess that labels me not a "movie-goer club member."

My all time favourite is Shawshank Redemption. And a few I won't mind watching over and over: Calender Girls, ... er... Sorry, can't think of any more at the moment.

  2. Children of Men is great. But you need to set aside the whole movie time to watch it (no distractions) b/c it will take your attention away from anything else.

  3. Kim> I found Napoleon Dynamite just too painful! I know lots of people have said it's much better after you've watched it more than once,,, but I just can't do that to myself. I'll quote/imitate the "Gosh!" mannerism, but, ummm, that's about it!

moomykin> I've noticed a few bloggers lamenting the missing Shawshank Redemption too.

Eden> Yeah, that's one of the reasons it's been on the queue forever ... "heavy" movies tend to get pushed back, and fluff like "Superhero Movie" bumped up! :D

Thanks!
