Teguran yang Terasa?

My rant about why I keep my phone on silent got to someone.

Someone who says is so terasa sampai nak contact I pun dah rasa serba salah…

Well.. in a way, that’s good... After all, there’s no denying that you were one of the “inspirations” for the rant.
But
if
you
take the time
to notice
what
I
just typed:

“… one of the …”

Was the rant targeted at you specifically? No.
Was it your face in my mind as I typed the rant? No.
Were you the only person to berate me for having my phone on silent? No.
Sure, you may have semi-jokingly threatened to throw my phone into the river for me since I didn’t seem to have any use for it (a threat which I totally forgot ever hearing, until you brought it up in conversation today, just so you know, okay? I wasn’t holding that against you, but perhaps your guilty conscience was?). You’re not the one who totally told me not to “… lie and please come up with a better excuse lah …” for saying I didn’t want to be tied to my phone, essentially accusing me of avoidance *and* duplicity. Neither are you the one who had loads of “unspoken disdain” contained in the tone of voice when asking “… but *why* would you keep your *phone* on *silent*?”

It goes on and on, my dear.

I haven’t decided whether it’s good or bad that you’re not the only one.
On one hand, it could be construed as good because “it’s not just you”, y’know?

But on the other hand, it’s kinda “bad” cos that shows how much people sometimes. just. don’t. get. me. y’know?

But no matter how much fuel was provided by whom...

... who provided the spark that caused the fiery rant?

that 650am call.

So.

Takelah whatever lessons / teguran / etc you choose from what I wrote. I’m just pointing out that it wasn’t meant to be personal, and if you took it that way, well, I’m sorry you took it that way.

Cheers!

  1. Hey, if you want to keep your phone on silent, that's your choice. My phone's on silent most of the time. Why? Mostly because I don't like it to ring and be a nuisance to others (although others have NO qualms at all about being nuisances), and, as I am sure you agree, the phone is there as a convenience, not as a slave/puppet master that makes you jump at the crack of the whip or by tugging the puppet strings.
Use the phone the way you are most comfortable with. Don't let it, or others, influence you on that ;-))
    Just my dua sen.
