monkey of the day!

For some reason, when i woke up yesterday i really didn't feel like being good/productive.

So for the first time in YEARS (no kidding!) I actually went into a Yahoo!Games room.

Now, when I fiiiiiiiiirst started exploring the online games (late 2001*), it was to address my euchre itch that just could. never. get. scratched. But damn, there are some real weird / sick / rude people hanging around in those rooms :-(

So in May 2002 I joined the Ladder Monkeys League to ensure the people I played with were NOT of the lower forms of online life - and had a great time!

Then work picked up again. :p

My next major foray into the game rooms / league play was in my last year of work: I'd end up at Coffee Bean with my laptop, sufing aimlessly while waiting for Kosh to get online so we could have our Yahoo IM dates :-) It was easy enough to get back into the whole gaming thing. At one point I was actually in the Top 20 Gin players! Yep, THAT's how much time I spent online, LOL!

Once I started my limbo time (October 2004), I know it would be all too easy for me to turn into a totaly online gaming zombie, so I just never ventured into the Yahoo!Games rooms.

Until yesterday.

And boy did I play! Entered a few euchre and gin tournaments, played a few "monkey games" [regular league games]... overall i lost waaaaaay more than I won, but hey, it was nice to interact with my fellow monkeys again! So what if I "wasted" almost 3000 banana bux in tournament fees, teehehehe!

I think i spent over 6 hours [closer to 7 maybe?] monkeyin' around yesterday.

But...

... the surprise was this morning!

I was chosen [along with 4 others lah] as MONKEY OF THE DAY!



So I got 500 banana bux AND I'll have this coooool icon next to my name for the whole of today!

But it's the weekend and I'm gonna be spending it OFFline with Kosh.

Oh well.

But thanx for the boost, monkeys!

NOTE: * I'd survived from May 1995 till Sept 2001 with just the jonesing for euchre... but when CLB and KTN came to visit, and we did manage to sucker Joe into being the 4th player,,, aaaaaaahhhhhhh,,,, shouldn't have played at all! I HAD to get my euchre fix after having had that tease of a short session... hence the venture into the online games....
